Ready for Smart Grids

The new Grid Measurement and Protection Module GMP232 from Bachmann electronic integrates protection and monitoring functions into the ?conventional? control tasks of decentralized electricity generation plants. Its integration into the Bachmann SolutionCenter enables automation specialists to use tried and tested software, and to save time and money.

Availability of electricity from renewable energies is not as predictable as such of major plants. As a result of their rising numbers, decentralized small power plants must contribute to network stability and take over protection tasks independently.

The new ?Grid Measurement and Protection Module? GMP232 collects and analyzes parameters at the busbar of small power plants. Together with other plant parameters the facility can be controlled even during grid faults and stable operation of the supply according to the grid codes is ensured.

As the GMP232 is integrated into the Bachmann SolutionCenter working with the module is saving time and money, still offering a wide variety of functions. Being in configuration mode, plant parameters can be changed easily. The included monitoring solution offers an extensive range of functions and reports. Fault events are logged with an exact time code and for the analysis of data the SolutionCenter offers three different views. Programs can be tested in several modes for simulation. Certainly the GMP232 can be integrated into remote monitoring easily.
