Limen and Titan Tracker enter into an agreement to supply dual-axis trackers in Italy

Limen is currently developing a pipeline of utility scale solar projects in Italy, using High Concentrating PV. It will start with two power plants of 1 MW each in Sicily in late 2011, with additional power plants following in the pipeline. The deployment of these two plants will be likely one of the first large scale commercial projects in Italy using this innovative technology.
The agreement will include the supply of 80 dual-axis trackers designed specifically by Titan Tracker to be also used as greenhouse for autochthonous agriculture. This tracker design is characterized by its minimal deformations, zero backlash and continuous movement in azimuth, which provide extremely high accuracy and reliability, two key issues for CPV.
The head of renewable energy division of Limen SA, PhD. Mr. Roberto Petti stated 'The performance and specifications of Titan trackers are indeed optimal for our next projects in Italy. It has demonstrated to be a proven and efficient dual-axis tracker for CPV'. Titan tracker was taking part in the first projects of ISFOC, one of the most relevant international R&D centers pushing CPV, providing a successful technical assessment report at that time.
In turn, Mr. Juan Pablo Cabanillas, Managing Director of Titan trackers explains 'We are delighted to have entered into this agreement in Italy with LIMEN, which is one of the few companies with a complete set of capabilities, expertise and background to deliver utility scale CPV solar projects. This agreement is a milestone pioneering tracking technologies'.
