Dow Corning co-presents circuit breaker lubrication seminar
Dow Corning Corporation will collaborate with its distributor First Power Group to present a featured educational session at a conference described as ?the electric power industry?s premier event for substation/switchgear maintenance personnel.?
Experts from Dow Corning and First Power Group ? a Dow Corning brand and Molykote brand product distributor ? will present a half-day seminar on the lubrication of circuit boards during Finepoint?s 19th annual Circuit Breaker Test & Maintenance Training Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. The seminar, ?Circuit Breaker Lube by Number,? will take place during the afternoon of Oct. 3 at the Omni William Penn Hotel.
?Approximately half of the circuit breaker failures worldwide can be traced to lubricant degradation, improper selection or misapplication,? said Dow Corning Application Engineer Gene Finner. ?The ?Circuit Breaker Lube by Number? seminar will examine the act of lubrication on nine different surface contact points common to circuit breakers. Lubrication products and application methods for each of these surface contact points will be subsequently discussed with regard to their possible effect on maintenance interval and equipment reliability.?
The seminar, which is intended for electricians, engineers, technicians, managers, specialists, foremen, planners and instructors, ?will present a simplified systems approach to lubrication planning, selection and implementation,? said First Power Group Vice President Dean Stebner.
