DEGERenergie MLD systems provide energy for Formula 2 and touring car race track in Zolde
The world famous race track in Zolder, Belgium, has a new attraction. Since the beginning of the racing season 2012, DEGERenergie tracking systems provide environmentally friendly energy there. The Belgium company Intellisol is in charge of the project. DEGERenergie is the global market leader for solar tracking systems.
Intellisol has financed and realized the project in cooperation with the operator of the race track. Rik Koch, co-owner and technological manager at Intellisol: ?With this decision, the operator of Zolder has consciously taken a step towards environmentally friendly energy supply. Each tracking system is designed for a peak capacity of 10 kilowatts. The generated energy covers about one third of the total energy demand of the race track.?
The 25 9000NT DEGERtrakers have been installed on 8 m high poles. This height guarantees that the races are not disturbed and that the audience has a free view. They have been installed along the race track and are therefore a sensation for the visitors.
Intellisol has been working together with DEGERenergie for some time now. ?Our experience is all good", explains Rik Koch. The tracking systems considerably contribute to an excellent performance of the modules and guarantee optimum efficiency. The efficiency of the DEGERtraker has always been exceeding our expectations. Even in winter, we achieved top yield on bright days.?
DEGERenergie is the global market leader for solar tracking systems. Worldwide, more than 47,000 DEGERenergie systems are installed in 46 countries. The company is represented in Spain, Greece and North America with its own subsidiaries and cooperates with local distribution and service partners in many countries worldwide. The patented DEGERenergie Maximum Light Detection (MLD) technology makes it possible to improve the energy yield of solar power plants by an average of 45 percent compared to fixed systems.
