AWS Truepower?s President and CEO co-chairs American Wind Energy Association Conference

Bruce Bailey, President and CEO of AWS Truepower, LLC, an international leader in renewable energy consulting and information services, will co-chair and serve as Technical Chair for the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) 2012 WINDPOWER Conference. Bailey will co-chair the conference with Gabriel Alonso, CEO of EDP Renewables North America. The annual industry conference will be held at Georgia World Congress Center on June 3rd ? 6th in Atlanta, GA.

?This event is the world?s largest annual gathering of wind industry players,? said Bruce Bailey, President and CEO of AWS Truepower. ?As conference co-chair, my goal is to provide attendees an opportunity to enhance their knowledge from expert speakers and industry leaders, while showcasing state-of-the-art research and advancements in wind energy. Ongoing technological improvements continue to drive down the cost of energy from wind energy systems and make wind power economically feasible in more regions geographically.?

Bruce Bailey began his career in the renewable energy and environmental fields in the 1970s. He is one of the world?s leading authorities on wind and solar energy applications. His work includes being a project director for hundreds of contracts in the areas of siting studies, feasibility assessments, technology evaluations, meteorology and offshore development on behalf of utility, government, and industrial clients. Bailey is widely published and served as Program Chair for the AWEA Windpower conference in 1995. He is a prior Board Director of AWEA and is a founder of AWEA?s Offshore Wind Working Group.

?Of the nearly 500 U.S. manufacturing plants that supply components to the wind power industry, more than 90 are in the Southeast,? said AWEA CEO Denise Bode. ?Given this robust wind power manufacturing activity in the region, Atlanta is a most appropriate location for WINDPOWER 2012. Wind power manufacturing along with a host of topics that cover the entire industry will be covered in our fantastic conference program. Thank you to chairs Bruce Bailey and Gabriel Alonso for their leadership in developing such compelling and dynamic educational offerings.?

The conference will host over 50 educational, scientific, and general sessions for global wind industry professionals. On Monday, June 4th, Ted Turner, entrepreneur and philanthropist, will deliver the keynote speech. AWS Truepower staff will make presentations during the conference and help lead discussions.
