Accurate and fast simulation of PV yield
GeoModel Solar has recently introduced an updated version of the web-based PV simulation software, pvPlanner, which now features availability for China. The simulation tool includes access to satellite-based solar radiation data from the SolarGIS database, independently identified as the best performing solar resource database on the market. pvPlanner is suitable for both utility scale and rooftop PV systems, and has been designed keeping in mind the needs of not only technical professionals, but also of business managers and decision makers. No prior training is required to use pvPlanner, and accurate PV yield can be calculated within a minute.
pvPlanner has been developed by co-authors of PVGIS. Whilst developing pvPlanner, the main focus was on accuracy of yield simulations. The most relevant information everyone seeks is how a solar energy system pays off. Use of advanced simulation methods and reliable solar resource data make pvPlanner reports bankable for small to medium sized PV systems.
Now, decision makers can quickly compare the expected yield from different module technologies and mounting systems (fixed-mounted, single or double axis tracker). Standardised PDF reports can be downloaded in many languages, and it is also possible to export data in CSV and XLS format for use in other software.
